Launch Party

The launch party is now organised (6-8 pm at Clifton Bookshop - thank you, Louisa, for all your help) and all the invitations have been sent. We were hoping to have a few re-enactors in appropriate uniforms to lend the place a World War II atmosphere, but it proved to be a lot more difficult than anticipated, so we’ve had to settle for bunting, 1940’s music and a few reproductions of Home Front posters from the Imperial War Museum.

I’ve done absolutely no work on my current novel for quite some time now - I’m far too caught up in the launch of Another Time and Place to focus my mind on much else. The household management has been suffering a bit too and I keep forgetting to stock up on essentials like ketchup and marmalade. Still, we’ve been talking about the launch as a reality for almost a year and a half now, and as a distant possibility for more than 6 years before that, so who can blame me if I’m a little bit too excited to get the shopping right?
