Kate, who is the friend who put me on to the gig at Bristol Grammar School, finally came up to me in my son’s school playground last week with her verdict on the book. (She had read one of the review copies the publisher had sent to BGS). Having waited with bated breath for three weeks or so, I was very pleased (not to say immensely relieved) to hear that she really enjoyed it, and that she thought I ‘wrote beautifully.’ Pleased? It made my day.
